The route leads along the Bug River – one of the few European rivers that have preserved their natural, unregulated character. Pristine nature, picturesque landscapes of the countryside and traits of multicultural heritage are a distinguishing mark of this route. Here you can see beautiful churches and monasteries of many denominations (Jabłeczna, Pratulin, Kostomłoty and Kodeń), historic manors, old cemeteries and battlefields (Dubienka). There is also an Arabian Horse Stud Farm in Wygoda near Janów Lubelski.
The route follows paved surface roads as well as forest and field tracks, so in some places travelling may be difficult in adverse weather conditions.

The trail allows you to explore the Bug River nature and the history of the region, as it leads, among others, through the former battlefields (Dubienka), next to unique places and monuments. Preserved cemeteries, as well as numerous historic catholic and orthodox churches, and court complexes are the evidence of the borderland cultures intertwining.
The route was laid on paved and dirt roads, so it may be difficult to travel under adverse weather conditions.
