The Multicultural Current of the Bug River is a land where cultures and borders meet, where the traditions of Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Judaism merge. The multitude of cultural and religious monuments, and sanctuaries of unique architecture are complemented with unique cultural events. Restored Bug river mansions take us back in times, offering relaxation far away from the haste of civilization. Healthy air, lots of greenery, the magic of Polesian landscapes, festivals, picturesque landscapes, and the distance of areas of the Bug river from large cities are values that will be appreciated by those who long for silence in close contact with nature.

001 Wielokulturowy Nurt Bugu

It is worth starting a journey along the Multicultural Current of the Bug River from Włodawa. A town known as "the city of three cultures" is located in Polesie, on the border with Belarus, by the Bug River. It was here that the followers of Catholicism, Judaism, and Orthodoxy coexisted for centuries. A proof of that and a thing that allows real contact with the multiculturalism of the place, are the temples located on the neighboring streets: the Synagogue Complex, the late Baroque parisch church of St. Ludwik with the Pauline monastery, and the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since 1995 Włodawa hosts the Festival of Three Cultures. It's an unusual event that connects the past of a small Eastern Borderland town with its present. It implements an ecumenical program of protection, education and promotion of the local tradition that borders culture, tolerance, and coexistence.

The natural offer is complemented by artistic events which emphasize the values flowing from respect for natural space through entering the original landscape. The Land Art Festival, implemented by the Latająca Ryba Foundation, continues the concept of moving art beyond large urban and economic centers, museums and galleries. Outdoor art galleries are created during the festival. These activities are part of the global trend of ecological visual activities in the structure of the natural environment.

The fans of healthy lifestyles, active leisure, and enthusiasts of sports such as canoeing or cycling, can take advantage of the offer of active recreation. An unforgettable experience will be provided by canoeing along the Bug River on the European Union border, and a trip along the Green Velo Eastern Cycle Trail.

The Multicultural Current of the Bug will provide regeneration for the most demanding travelers. A stay in the atmospheric Uroczysko Zaborek, an open-air museum perfectly adapted to the modern requirements of tourists, will fulfil the concept of extraordinary rest in harmony with nature. On the other hand, the four-star hotel Biskupi Castle in Janów Podlaski offers its high-quality services to its guests.
