ZAMOŚĆ
Zamość, known as the ideal city, was founded in the XVI century by Crown Hetman Jan Zamoyski. Designed by an eminent Italian architect Bernardo Morando, the city-fortress was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992 as an architectural and urban complex. The visitors are delighted by the magnificent rectangular Renaissance market square with its beautiful Armenian tenement houses and the town hall decorated with extensive classicist stairs. Zamość is constantly expanding its offer for visitors by using historic buildings to create new cultural institutions, museums and attractions. The most interesting realization seems to be the Arsenal Museum of of Fortifications and Weaponry located in the reconstructed Bastion VII. The youngest are eager to visit the zoo and attractions located in the city park. The city emphasizes the importance of history and encourages the arrival of all those interested in reconstructions: the Zamość Fortress Siege and the Legend of the Swedish Table, as well as the traditional Hetman Fair. The city has rich musical traditions that are cultivated by the Karol Namysłowski's Symphonic Orchestra - the oldest continuously functioning orchestra in Poland.
ROZTOCZE
In 2019 Roztocze was included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves, as the part of the "Man and Biosphere" UNESCO program as the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve "Roztocze", which covers some Ukrainian counties as well. The most valuable parts of the Polish part of Roztocze are under protection, creating the Roztocze National Park, which delights with its natural diversity and an attractive leisure offer. It's worth to start sightseeing in Zwierzyniec, where the headquater of the park is located. Appreciated by the tourists "Echo Ponds" is a perfect place for the ones who like to rest among water, forest, and beautiful landscape. Thanks to the viewing platforms you can observe the Polish Koniks, descendants of the tarpan. It's also worth to visit the Forest Chamber and the Stable Breeding Center of the Polish Konik in Florianka. Roztocze is also a great environment for many leisure activities, such as kayaking, walking, and cycling, especially on the professionaly prepared trails such as "Green Velo" and "The Centrail Bicycle Route of Roztocze". Unique landscapes, vast biodiversity, richness of forest complexes, and location on the natural and cultural junction - all of that constitutes to a fact that you will never find such a unique area as Roztocze.
POLESIE
The rank of the Park is emphasized by its recognition as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 2002, and its addition in 2005 to the list of wetlands protected under the Ramsar Convention. In 2012, the "West Polesie" Biosphere Reserve together with protected areas in Belarus and Ukraine were included in the list of transboundary reserves under the UNESCO "MAB" Program by creating the "West Polesie" Transboundary Biosphere Reserve. Being it's part, the Poleski National Park is a unique place full of silence and the sounds of nature. It's worth to direct you first steps to the Educational – Museum Centre in Załucze stare, which is a perfect introduction for conscious walks around the park. The uniqueness of the area is evidenced by the opportunity to learn about many protected species of plants and animals, including black grouse, black stork, wolf, ermine, and the showcase of the Park - the European pond turtle. The institution has been successfully implementing a special protection program for this endangered species since 1998. The Poleski National Park is a great place for hiking along professionally prepared educational paths, including Spławy, Czahary, Perehod. Wooden footbridges that run through the marshes, allow you to safely reach the places previously inaccessible to humans. Getting to know the park and its surroundings by bike enables a close contact with nature. Bicycle routes running through attractive areas are an offer for those who prefer active tourism. In the immediate vicinity of the park there is the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District - a place of rest for sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts, as well as the beautiful border river Bug, which is particularly appreciated by canoeists and anglers.
