One of the most important monuments of Lublin is the church and monastery of the Dominican Order. Since the last renovation works in the the monastery were completed in 2012, historic exhibits connected with the order have been displayed in the northern wing of the building. The magnificent Archcathedral is a must-see when visiting Lublin. It is a former Jesuit church, built in 1586-1604. After a fire in 1752, the church was rebuilt. At that time, the famous illusionist polychromes by master Joseph Mayer were created.
