DO YOU WANT TO MEET THE HISTORY EYE TO EYE?

The spectacular show "Zamość Fortress Siege" (29-31 May 2020) will take you back to the events of 1648 and 1656. Apart from the battles reconstructions, archery tournaments and presentations of the clothes from the epoque await. A unique military picnic Good Morning, Dęblin (July) should also be found on your list. 29 reconstruction groups took part in the previous edition of the event.

DO YOU LOVE GOOD FUN TO THE SOUNDS OF GOOD MUSIC?

During Codes – Festival of Traditional and Avant-garde Music (20-23 May 2020) and East of Culture – Different Sounds Art'n'Music Festival (25-28 June 2020) you will find variety of music during the following events in Lublin. Another proposition is Kazimiernikejszyn (15-19 July 2020), lively concerts played by the musicians who first and foremost value fun and good contact with the audience. Direction: Kazimierz Dolny. You will hear some quality jazz during Lublin Jazz Festival (18-26 April 2020) and Lublin Jazz Bez (December 2020*). Contmporary versions of folk music will resound at the International Folk Music Festival "Mikołajki Folkowe" (December 2020*).
 

HOW ABOUT SIGHTSEEING AT NIGHT?

In the Lublin Region we have some events for you and all the night owls. During Night of Culture in Lublin (6/7 June 2020) amazing artistic installations will take over the Old Town streets. There will be many delights and surprises. Add to that concerts, workshops, exhibitions, and tours, and here's your recipe for an unforgettable night. Three weeks earlier, during the Night of Museums (16/17 May 2020), cultural institutions and museums will invite you over after hours. You will have an opportunity to visit them for free and take part in special events.

ARE YOU A FOLKLOR ENTHUSIAST?

Make sure to visit Kazimierz Dolny for the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers (25-28 June 2020), during which the folk bands from all over the country have been competing for over fifty years. If you're interested in traditional culture of the close and far away countries, the International Folk Festival "EUROFOLK" (6-13 July 2020) in Zamość and Ignacy Wachowiak's International Folklore Meetings (8-12 July 2020) will be a true treat for you. Colourful market stalls heavy with regional delicacies, handicraft, and various trinkets, together with wonderful concerts and famous dance parties. You will experience all of that in Lublin during the Jagiellonian Fair (August 2020*), which relates to the famous fairs from the times of the Jagiellonian dynasty. At the Hetman's Fair in Zamość (6-7 June 2020) you will also get to know some of the local traditions and acquire products from the local artists and producers. In September visit Włodawa for the Festival of Three Cultures (18-20 September 2020) thanks to which you will learn about the history of the city, where where three religions - Catholicism, Judaism, and Orthodoxy - used to coexist for centuries.

DO YOU LIKE DISCOVERING NEW FLAVOURS?

It's time for a culinary adventure in the Lublin Region! A holiday of groats, traditions, and folk culture"Gryczaki" Culinary Festival (8-9 August 2020) in Janów Lubelski is a mandatory position for you. Lublin tastes exceptionally good in September during the European Festival of Taste (7-13 September), which will allow you to discover various flavours of Europe without the need of travelling houndreds of kilometers. The event is accompanied by concert, exhibitions, and other cultural events. Main theme of this year's edition will be Belgium. Lubelskie - taste life!

ARE YOU A FAN OF THE GOLDEN BEVERAGE?

You can't miss the popular Chmielaki, the National Brewer' Festival (21-23 August 2020). It's the oldest beer festival in Poland. Lublin Region is also one of the biggest apple basins in the country. Delicious drink that is cider also has it's holiday - you will taste it during the Young Cider Festival in Lublin (September 2020). Or maybe you prefer wine? White, red, pink, dry, sweet - an opportunity for some tasting will arrive during the Wine Fest in Janowiec (30 May 2020). Cheers!

ARE YOU OFTEN ON CLOUD NINE?

Women's World Hot Air Balloon Championship (11-15 August 2020) will provide you all the necessary emotions. Colourful sky, interesting artistic events, all that in the beautiful entourage of Nałęczów. You will also surely like Świdnik Air Festival (6-7 June 2020). You will see the performances of the acrobatic teams, military machines, and historical aircrafts. There will also be some music stars on stage.

ARE YOU THIRSTY FOR ART?

In the Lublin Region artist often think outside the box, or even outside the buildings. LandArt (2-11 July 2020) is an event that presents it away from the big cities, galleries, or museums. In the Autumn Lublin invites for the "Open City" - Festival of Art in Public Space (11 September - 9 October 2020), during which the centre of Lublin will turn into an art gallery. In the surroundings of historical monuments you will see the installations of the contemporary artists.

ARE YOU A MOVIE FAN?

Camera, action! We have some propositions for you. At the beginning of August you can take part in a film holiday, the Film and Art Festival Two Riversides Film and Art Festival (1-9 August 2020), will take place in Kazimierz Dolny. Then move to the south of the region where in the beautiful area of Roztocze the Summer Film Academy (7-16 August 2020) takes place in Zwierzyniec. It's worth to mention that the event is one of the winners of the competition for the Best Tourist Product of the Lublin Voivodeship 2019. Interesting documentaries you will watch during the Zamość Movie Festival "Meetings with history" (19-22 August 2020), and some independent cinema during the Lublin Film Festival (20-28 November 2020).

Visit Szczebrzeszyn for the Capital of the Polish Language Festival (2-8 August 2020). Traiditionally, one of the festival days take place in the ideal city - Zamość. The event attracts the fans of good literature, and is also an opportunity to meet the greatest writers. Remember about Pride of Poland. Arabian Horse Days (August), National Smithery Workshops in Wojciechów (30 June - 12 July 2020), and "Theatre confrontations" International Festival (8-18 October 2020). Finish the year in Sławatycze near the Bug River, where from the 29 till 31 of December the Brodacze walk through the streets. If you meet them, the good fortune will not leave your side for the nest twelve months. This beautiful regional tradition of the Bug river Region has been cultivated for years.
