One of the oldest Polish health resorts specialising for over 200 years in cardiologic and cardiovascular problems. At the end of the 19th c. it was a favourite place of many well-known Polish writers, such as Henryk Sienkiewicz, Bolesław Prus or Stefan Żeromski (the latter two have their museums here). The town is situated on the Nałęczów Plateau, surrounded by forests and greenery, with historic architecture modelled on Alpine resorts and Zakopane-style villas. The heart of Nałęczów is the vast Springs Park with the Classicist Palace of the Małachowski Family and other historic sights (e.g. Old Baths, Greek House, Gothic House, and the Prince Joseph Sanatorium). Recently many modern spa & wellness centres have opened in the town offering hydrotherapy and other health and beauty treatments. On the hill in the eastern part of Nałęczów stands a Baroque parish church founded by the Małachowski Family with the adjacent cemetery where many eminent Poles are buried.
